The scuttlebutt about Phil Harrison taking on Infogrames/Atari after resigning from Sony last week has been confirmed. Game Daily is featuring an article with the official announcement:

Having just announced his resignation last week from his post at Sony Computer Entertainment as head of Worldwide Studios, Phil Harrison has now become the President of Atari parent company Infogrames, reporting to David Gardner who himself was recently appointed CEO. Harrison is also now a member of the Board of Directors at Infogrames.

The French company said that Gardner and Harrison together "form the basis of a transformational leadership team at Infogrames that will grow the Atari brand into a leading online game company." Atari could sure use the help given its bleak financial situation each quarter.
