hi all im new to age of conan just installed it was wondering whats the best pet class on the game i like magic users also like tanks to just cant make my mind up what to make i was thinking of makeing a nercomancer are they any good thx in advanced

This game is kind of like a shit-filled cupcake. Looks great, but once you bite into it, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

These small trolls just rant off total Bull OP. Adopted opinions from the early days when AoC had performance issues (pre patch 2.0). I am head of a grand guild in AoC on Set server. Set, Cimmeria, Deathwiser, Wiccana, Tyranny etc... are packed if you like hefty PvP action sign on there.

Last thing.. Please come back here after log in and a bit of leveling to tell these btches how wrong they are. There is no other game out there that can compete with AoC.

I'm so glad I got into the beta for Age of Conan. It meant I could see why it was a good idea not to spend money on it.

I won't say no game can compete with it, but don't listen to these assholes. They need to bitch and moan about anything, really. Just look at how I'm gonna get flamed in a few mins.

Anyway, the game is great - back when I played it, it had loads of performance issues which is why I quit, but I still had great fun, the crashes just happened on the worst possible occasions and I grew weary of it. But the game is awesome, and I've heard from several people I used to play with that the performance issues and crashes have been fixed, and new content and more quests has been added.

Hope you have better luck with the game than I did, 'cause it's a star when it works. And I guess it should work nowadays.
People usually just get a first impression and stick with it, even though the games evolves and glitches and bugs are fixed.
I was a Tempest of Set, great fun. I can only recommend them - or Necromancers, although summoning 8 creeps each time you zone gets boring as hell, the class is fun enough.

Indeed. But people come here to flame since WarCry is 99% unmoderated and people love being assholes as much as possible.

To the OP; if you want a pet user and also wanna use magic, Necromancer is your class. I can't recommend any melee classes in the game to be honest, because although they may be good, using those hit combos to do anything really gets boring after a while - magic users don't have that problem.

To everyone who just comes here to flame: Get lost. This guy is trying to get some help with a great new game he's purchased, don't be so negative. If you don't think the game is good and just wanna post crap, don't post at all.

Yeah. He could just go on there and look at the bewbs every once and a while.

From everyone's comments here looks like the game isn't good at all. I'd better steer clear of it :S As for those who bought it I guess you could always amuse yourself by taking all your clothes off and running around a server, or even convince everyone else to do the same thing :D

There was actually a guy I know who did that. He said you couldn't come into a village unless you were naked. Worked the first time. Second time, everyone just started killing him.

First of all AoC is a good game and you will be surprised how much content there is, especially with all the major patches over the months.

To answer your question I am not sure if I can help because I prefer DPS or battle mage type characters. Bear Shaman rocks after level 20 and Assassin is challenging but rewarding. Necro's are supposed to be fun. I hear people that love and some that hate the guardian class. Thing with AoC is that skill does matter and its obvious when you see one player tank a heap whilst someone with the same class and level loses it quickly. If you have the right rig to run AoC then you will find it rewarding for several months.

I play LotRO and played WAR and Vanguard. AoC doesn't have everything I want but the combat is more advanced than any other fantasy game I have played so far.
