And with MMOs they can change - there could be another review in a few months with a second take on the game, after more time with it. I'm fairly sure you're just trolling sites throwing e-tantrums though, and not actually attempting any soft of intelligent discourse. |

Plus, MMO launch reviews deliver only a glimpse of the game, so expect followups as the game shapes up (or down). Cheers |

He's not just trolling the forums. There is a HUGE number of dissasfied customers that feel duped by Funcom. The official forums are "members only" for a reason...damage control. They also are waiting to eneable the buddy passes that came with the retail box till they have milked the paying customers dry...why let the cat out of the bag for free? There is a stickied post right at the top "Don't let reading the forums get you down...". Nuf said. |

Maybe i've spent too much time in WoW before i moved over, but i foudn this game's gameplay reasonable at best amd hitting those 3 direction buttons might be fun at first, but after a while it really doesnt add much to an automatic attack function used in other mmo's Just more button bashing Questwise it did get a little more fun after tortage, but due to the big dissapointment there it took me forever to plough through it. I remember playing wow/eve for hours straight, in aoc i just logo ut after a hour or two, and for the love of god, redesign the chat interface. Ohh well, hope WAR is better |

I agree that Warcry was most probably NOT "paid off". But to give that steaming pile of sh*t a 94/100? They're the ones on pills. |
WarCry Choice Posts: 5804 Joined: 30 Jun 2004 | Look, if you were to play WoW for the first time, you would probably enjoy it very much. If you were to write a review, you would give it a high score. Fast forward to a month later when you are grinding away on furbolgs in WinterSpring, (cause that was the "high-end" content of WoW long ago, when it just came out. Actually, even that wasn't in the game when WoW just launched), and gave it another review, then your onions on the game would be very different.

Eat a bag of it Toxicity. PC Gamer just came out and after a review that I thought was a little too lenient, they gave it a 77%. Thank you PC Gamer!! FYI that is the same ranking they gave Hellgate London. I am so happy to see that P.O.S. dying a painful death. Maybe it will get DX10 when Darkfall comes out, lol. |

+1 to Nightfreak. We don't see eye to eye on a couple issues, but that made me laugh. |

Assistant Video Producer Posts: 527 Joined: 19 Feb 2006 | I greatly enjoyed AoC for a short while, even getting my Assassin up to level 78. A few things really started to get to me though, and I ended up canceling. I would have given the beginning a very high score to start and then revisited the review later. That's the problem with reviewing MMOs. Generally the first 20 levels( or equivalent) are the most polished by release, and to get a review out in a timely fashion that's generally about all the time you have to play.

Dungeon Crawler Posts: 597 Joined: 24 Mar 2008 | This does surprise me, the people I know who have played it seem to enjoy it just fine. Of course more than one of them is a Conan geek supreme (not an insult, I'm pretty geeky about a lot of things myself) and the rest of them do tend to like what everybody else does regardless of quality (that is an insult, the sheepish idiots, I don't talk to them much) But, all this aside, is it really WarCry's fault, they posted ads that were given to them, they were misleading you in no way, if anything, funcom was misleading Warcry into misleading you... but this is getting obtuse. My philosophy, blame the advertising company, not the place you saw the ad. And agree or disagree, I generally find the WarCry reviews pretty solid AoC might have been handed to someone who was going to give it a positive review anyway, but that happens all the time, you need to be more critical about your consumption of this material when you take it in the first time as opposed to being angry about it after the fact. --Like hearing about video game industry trends and theories? |

This site gave AOC 4/5.
DID Warcry staff actually play the game?
This game is far from what has been advertised and promoted on this site and others...blatantly false advertising.
From you review it seems more like an advertorial than an unbiased review.
Honestly sites like this and IGN are fast becoming a joke as far as serious reviews go...a consequence of getting so big that the advertisers run your site.
At least the official AOC forums reflect what the dissapointed masses have learned...that Funcom are con artists and Warcry is a paid partner in promoting their lies.
Shame shame
